Manchurian Dry

Crispy, tangy and full of bold flavor, Manchurian Dry is one of the most popular starters in Indo-Chinese cuisine, the fusion of Chinese cooking styles and Indian spices that's loved across India and Nepal. At Curry Gate, you choose chicken or gobi (cauliflower) and your spice level, and we sauté it in our signature Manchurian sauce.

Choose your protein:

Gobi Manchurian: crispy cauliflower florets, a vegetarian favorite and one of the most famous Indo-Chinese dishes. Chicken Manchurian: crispy, juicy chicken pieces, a classic for meat lovers.

Indo-Chinese food was born in India's Chinese communities, especially in Kolkata. Chinese-style stir-frying and sauces met the bold spices and heat Indian diners love. Manchurian became one of the most iconic dishes to come out of that tradition, and Gobi Manchurian in particular is now a must-order at Indian restaurants around the world.

Our Manchurian Dry starts with cauliflower florets or chicken pieces, lightly coated in a seasoned batter and fried until golden and crispy. They're then sautéed in a hot wok with garlic, ginger, green chillies and spring onions, and tossed in a glossy Manchurian sauce that's savory, tangy and slightly sweet, traditionally made with soy sauce and a touch of vinegar. Unlike our Manchurian Gravy, the dry version has just enough sauce to coat each piece, so it stays crispy and is easy to share.

The result is a dish that is crunchy, garlicky, tangy and savory, with a satisfying kick. It's hard to stop at just one bite.

You control the heat. Choose your spice level from 1 to 10 when you order. Keep it mild at 1–3 for all the tangy flavor with gentle warmth, go medium at 4–6 for classic Indo-Chinese heat, or turn it up to 7–10 if you love real fire.

Manchurian Dry is a great shareable starter or a flavorful side. Pair it with our Chilli Paneer or Chilli Chicken for a full Indo-Chinese spread, or enjoy it alongside steamed rice. If you prefer it saucy, try our Manchurian Gravy.

Whether you're craving Gobi Manchurian for lunch in Uptown, Chicken Manchurian for dinner in South End, or Indo-Chinese takeout near NoDa, Curry Gate brings authentic Indian and Nepali flavors to Charlotte, NC. Order Manchurian Dry for dine-in, pickup or delivery.
